HABITATS & WILDLIFE

There are a huge array of wild wonders to see at Whitlingham Country Park.

Our wildlife sightings board in the Flint Barn Cafe is a good place to record what you have seen. Local naturalist, James Emerson, keeps species records for us and you can find the lists on his website.

Did you know, 197 different species of birds have been seen and/or heard here? Amazing!

Seen something rare or beautiful in the park? Let us know. We would love to see your photos.

Have you been lucky enough to see a bee orchid (picture 2 below), an otter (pic.4) or a bittern (pic.11)?

They are a few of the lesser spotted sights at Whitlingham.

We have a wide range of habitats at the park including woodland, meadow and wetland, as well as the water spaces. Logs are also left in places to make great habitats for invertebrates as they decay.

What will you discover?
