Our regular Whitlingham volunteers are a magnificent and dedicated bunch. Some of them have been with us as long as 16 years! That is true dedication, and proves that it's an enjoyable and fulfilling place to be.

Our regular crew is represented by a wide range of great human beings from all walks of life and all ages from 20s to late 70s, and they bring such enthusiasm and team spirit to all that they get involved in. They take part in a wide variety of tasks over the 280 acres here at Whitlingham, including: coppicing, hedge laying, grass mowing, strimming, hay raking, installing fences, planting trees, litter-picking and site checks. They have also recently laid a magnificent dead hedge which has been widely praised by visitors in recent weeks.

Here are some recent team shots of our Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday crews, and some action shots of them busy with park jobs to keep the space looking magnificent for visitors to enjoy.

Recent Aviva volunteers who worked alongside our regular volunteer team said:

It was a joy working alongside your regular volunteers at Whitlingham Lake. Everyone was so friendly, kind and genuinely welcoming. They kept the energy high and made the whole day fly by. Their passion and teamwork shone through in everything they did. A wonderful group of people making a real difference.

Another Aviva volunteer recently said:

I was extremely impressed with the level of commitment by the Regular Volunteers as they are hard-working, friendly and provide much needed assistance to make sure that this incredible space is maintained for the benefit of all.

If you do spot our volunteers in action around the park, do give them a wave and say hello. They are a friendly and knowledgeable bunch. Look out for orange high-vis coats and Whitlingham Volunteer uniforms! You can also join some of them later in the year for a guided walk. Keep an eye on our 'What's On' page for dates and times to join in.

We currently have a waiting list of people interested in becoming a regular volunteer with us. If you have experience with relevant outdoor jobs and want to do something great in your spare time, then do get in touch with your details and we can keep you in mind for when space becomes available.

On behalf of Whitlingham Charitable Trust. Thank you volunteers!
