š¾ It's April already and it's National Pet Month, from 2nd April - 2nd May.
Whitlingham Country Park is a great place to enjoy nature and fresh air with your dog(s) and there are plenty of paths and routes for your four-legged friends to exercise on. Dog walking is an essential part of being a responsible dog owner and this is a great place for them to exercise and for you to enjoy time together.
Woofers of Whitlingham
Meet some of the cute dogs that have been enjoying the park recently:
Thanks to all the owners for giving me their permission to take the photos.
National Pet month is all about promoting responsible pet ownership. Are you doing what you should?
5 easy ways to enjoy Whitlingham responsibly with your dog
⢠It is your responsibility to keep your dog under control and to clean up after it: You are
breaking the law if you do not do so
⢠Keep your dog in sight
⢠Keep the lead handy, you may need it
⢠Respect other users and the park's wildlife
⢠Respect the dog-free and dogs-on-leads areas. Please look out for signage at:
- The Conservation Area - a large section of the Great Broad circular path
- Trowse Water Meadow
- The Children's Play Area at the Barbecue Site
- Flint Barn CafƩ, Patio & Meadow
- All Car Parks
Thank you for enjoying Whitlingham responsibly š¦®
Dogs can enjoy the Flint Barn CafƩ too!
Our on-site cafƩ don't just have treats for our human visitors, they stock dog biscuit bones and even doggy ice-cream tubs too. Perfect for the warmer weather to refresh your four-legged friend and cool them down. You will also find bowls of water for dogs to rehydrate on our patio. Just let cafƩ staff know if they need a refill.

Not such a fan of dog friends?
There are many dog-lovers here, but you can very much enjoy Whitlingham Country Park if you want some space away from other people's pets. Our cafe's mezzanine level is always a dog-free zone for you, and if you explore the woodlands and meadows on the south side of the Great Broad it is usually far less busy so you are likely to encounter fewer dog-walkers there.
Come and enjoy a visit to Whitlingham soon! š¾
