Here at Whitlingham Country Park we are passionate about caring for the environment and avoiding waste. This ethos encompasses all of our work at the park, including at our Flint Barn Cafe.

Did you know our very own Flint Barn Cafe are now part of the popular Too Good To Go scheme? Read on to find out more about this brilliant way that you can grab yourself a bargain and do your bit to tackle food waste at the same time.

So What is Too Good To Go?

Too Good To Go was founded in 2016 in Copenhagen, Denmark, and is now used by over 175,000 businesses to help prevent perfectly good food from being thrown away at the end of trading.

What a brilliant idea!

At Flint Barn Cafe, of course we try to be mindful of how much food we prepare for our counter during each day, but we often still have a few delicious pasties, sausage rolls, sandwiches, cakes and pastries left at the end of the day.

Now that we feature on the Too Good To Go app, you can see if there is a 'surprise bag' ready to be collected, and then simply come and collect it at the end of the cafe's working day.

Collection is between 17:00 and 17:30 daily.

How's the scheme going so far?

Our Flint Barn Cafe has only been on the app for around three months and the response to our end-of-day goodies has been amazing! Thanks to those of you who have already downloaded the Too Good To Go app and collected a 'surprise bag' from us. We hope to welcome even more of you soon.

Some incredible statistics already:

So far, to date, we have saved the equivalent of 108 meals from going to waste! That equates to 291kg of CO2 output that has been avoided. We have been chosen as a 'Favourite' choice by 239 customers so far too.
