The Whitlingham Country Park team are delighted to be nominated as one of three finalists in the Tourism Business Awards 2026. What an honour!

As a small, independent, charity-run park - this is no small achievement and we are delighted that we have been recognised for the great destination space we offer the public, right on the edge of the city of Norwich.

What do we think makes Whitlingham Country Park extra special?

  • The park is FREE at the point of entry. Anyone can come and enjoy it at any time

  • We have a variety of different routes and trails to explore, with something suitable for all ages, levels of mobility and duration of visit

  • The park is run by Whitlingham Charitable Trust, registered charity 802711

  • There are lots of different ways to enjoy the park - walking, cycling, jogging, exploring with a pushchair, wheelchair or mobility scooter... everyone is welcome here

  • Activities on site can include things like birdwatching, fitness, relaxation and mindfulness, dog walking, orienteering, geocaching, playing and exploring with our family explorer trail pack, finding out about the park's history, and so much more...

  • Our volunteer-led guided walks help you to explore the park and find out more about our work and history. They are FREE to attend. Keep an eye on our What's On page for 2026 dates coming soon

  • We hold FREE family events with crafts and stamp trails in the summer and at October half term for Halloween. Great fun!

  • Through pay and display parking and using the Flint Barn Café, your visit directly contributes to the upkeep and development of the park. The Flint Barn Café are a trading subsidiary to the Whitlingham Charitable Trust and profits directly support the park

  • We have an incredible group of 20 dedicated regular volunteers who support the park. Their contribution is vital as we have a very small core team of staff to manage all 280 acres of park! They keep the park clean, accessible and support wildlife and nature to thrive

  • Whitlingham also has forged great partnerships with local businesses to facilitate corporate volunteering opportunities which are really popular

  • Our education provision is growing well and self-led visits are a popular choice for local schools who wish to use our equipment kits

  • Our Flint Barn Café is the heart of the park with delicious local and homemade goodies for all appetites. The café team are now hosting evening events too, starting with a SOLD OUT quiz this Thursday!
