We have exciting news!

We have had great success with our 4-wheeled Tramper mobility scooter which we have now had on site for around two years. It has helped countless locals and holidaymakers enjoy the park with ease and has been really popular and well reviewed.

Thank you for booking the Tramper for me. The process was easy, quick and straightforward. The cost was very reasonable and the Trampers are very sturdy and comfortable.

It's comfy and easy to use. I can get around the park easily.

What is a Tramper scooter?

A Tramper is a mobility scooter which is specifically designed for all-terrain use rather than pavements.

  • It can be driven on rough terrain including over tree roots and rocky ground. The gradients of the paths in Whitlingham Woods can be navigated easily on either of our Tramper scooters

  • The majority of the park is accessible on the scooters, including woodlands and meadows. All Tramper routes are explained when you have your quick induction for your first use here

  • Both Trampers are set to a maximum speed of 4mph for the safety of all park users and wildlife. Speed is easy to control so you can travel at the speed you feel comfortable with, and adjust as you go

  • Our all-terrain scooters have adjustable seats and arm-rests for your comfort, and they can be operated left or right-handed using handlebar twist grip (turn and hold the handle towards you to move, and simply release your grip to stop)

  • Both of our Trampers have 2 stick holders for convenience

  • Our 4-wheeled Tramper also has a dog tie-point for your four legged friend to explore alongside you

Why have we now got a three-wheeled Tramper?

Whitlingham Charitable Trust were able to source a pre-loved three-wheeled Tramper which is just as capable on gradients and rough ground as our 4-wheeled version. The latest three-wheeled scooter was kindly funded by R.C Snelling Charitable Trust. We are so grateful for their support with visitor accessibility at the park. It means such a lot to visitors when they can explore without worry.

We have had numerous requests for two Trampers at the same time, which we have not been able to fulfil... until now! It'll be lovely to see couples and friends being able to go out together and enjoy nature and fresh air in comfort. This three wheeler will be available to use from September 1st.

How can I book to use a Tramper scooter?

At just £5 for up to 3 hours, it's a really affordable way to explore at your leisure. Just book through the online booking system.

We currently offer two time slots per day. Either 10am or 1pm start times to allow for your three hours of use if you wanted to maximise your experience. Now that we have the Visitor Centre open daily, we are able to offer immediate bookings from 1st September, rather than 24 hour notice which is the current system. We hope that will be helpful to our visitors.

You collect your booked Tramper from our new Visitor Centre, where one of our staff or volunteers will give you a quick induction if it's your first time using it. Induction takes no more than ten minutes and then you can head off exploring! The induction process applies even if you have used similar vehicles at other sites. It's important that we know you are happy with the controls and routes here.

Do you know anyone who could benefit from using this? Spread the word! 😃
