There are always new things going on at Whitlingham. Here's our latest news:

We've powered through several heatwaves and we're enjoying a busy summer of events, picnics and ice-creams.

💚 Celebrating success!

We are delighted to announce that Whitlingham Country Park was recently awarded the Green Flag Award for the third year running. It's a major achievement as an independently managed green space. There are only a few independent Green Flag Award winners in East Anglia, so we are especially honoured to have our visitor experience recognised with this quality accolade.

As you'll see, it wasn't such a sunny day when we raised our latest flag!

Introducing your brand new Visitor Welcome Centre

The Whitlingham team, alongside our regular volunteers, have been hard at work creating a brand new Visitor Welcome Centre for the park. We hope you'll agree it looks magnificent! It is now open as a friendly first stop with advice, maps, family activities, and a hand-picked selection of nature-inspired gifts. If there is something you want to see on our gift shelves, please pass ideas to our welcome team.

We want this service to work for you, so we welcome your thoughts.

WE NEED YOU! If you’re friendly, enthusiastic, and able to give us some time, we’d love you to join our growing team of welcome volunteers. Get in touch to find out how to be involved.

E-NEWS EXCLUSIVE

Meet our new range of all-natural dog treats available at the Visitor Welcome Centre. Barney's Bundles are generously giving Whitlingham customers a 10% discount on repeat purchases online and giving 10% of the purchase to support the park too. Check out the information on the back of your packet.

🌳 Volunteers and park projects

Thanks to our staff and committed regular volunteers, there are now several new memorial benches installed for you to relax on. They have also been out pulling up ragwort and Himalayan balsam to prevent invasive spreading. Himalayan balsam can grow up to 8 feet high! It's quite an effort to remove but is necessary as it has exploding seed pods so it spreads easily down the river Yare.

Most of all, we must credit the phenomenal effort and care that has gone into creating the new welcome centre. It was built from scratch with hours of graft and, at times, quite a lot of problem-solving. What an incredible team! We are so grateful for the efforts of all our volunteers.

⛵ Park access via our moorings

Our moorings on the River Yare offer a different way to take in nature at Whitlingham. At just £5 for day mooring and £12 overnight, stay for up to three nights and take in our woodlands, meadows and pathways and find peace and tranquillity among nature.

Find information easily on our new banner by the moorings. Boaters mooring with us can get 10% off breakfast at Flint Barn Café when they show their mooring payment receipt (on a screen is fine), which is a delicious perk!

What's new at Flint Barn Café? ☕

The café is a hive of activity now it is the height of summer. It's wonderful to see families and visitors of all ages enjoying time in the barn, quenching their thirst and enjoying all the delicious choices the team have to offer.

Entertaining children during the holidays? Come and grab our kids' meal deal to boost their energy ready for exploring in nature. This offer runs until 1st September 2026.

🍦 Have you visited our new takeaway café hatch yet? Our friendly team are on hand to serve you hot and cold drinks and soft-serve ice-cream. There's even a brand new addition of strawberry or chocolate ice-cream sauce now available to cool you down with great taste. Find the hatch at the bottom of Flint Barn Car Park. There are picnic benches to sit at nearby, as well as brand new benches on the patio at the Flint Barn!

Snacks and baked treats are available every day, between 9am and 5pm

Sausage rolls and pasties, vegan sausage rolls, breakfast pastries, as well as homemade cheese scones, fruit scones, and cakes galore. What will be your next treat?

Lunch is available daily from midday.

Toasted paninis, filled ciabatta rolls and other delicious savoury temptations await at the café counter.

E-NEWS EXCLUSIVE

New sandwich alert! - Vegan BBQ Jackfruit, naked slaw and roquito pearl peppers in a ciabatta roll (pictured above). Delicious!

Flint Barn Events have been a popular addition for 2026. Keep an eye on our What's On page for Barn events throughout the year including craft workshops for you to get involved in. The next event is a children's terrarium workshop on Tuesday 11th August which you can book or drop in and join. Then we have our first Craft Fair on Saturday 29th August. Come along and admire the local creative talent.

Thanks for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming you to Whitlingham again soon.
