Why is learning outdoors so vital for us all?

Nature is the ultimate teacher.

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

This quote is widely attributed to Albert Einstein and it's important to realise that nature and outdoor learning don't just work their magic on children - they are hugely beneficial for adults too!

What learning opportunities can we provide at Whitlingham?

On any day at the park, you can surround yourself in nature, but if you want a helping hand to organise an educational opportunity, we can help!

We have 7 boxes of high quality education equipment to hire for any groups who wish to use them!

• birdwatching - binoculars and bird ID charts

• bug hunting - magnifiers, a sweep net, bug scoops and more... there are 2 of these boxes available

• nature hunting - tree and flowering plant ID charts as well as magnifiers and sensory activities

• pond dipping - nets, trays, magnifiers and ID charts for water plants and creatures

• field studies - meadow sampling equipment, temperature and humidity gauges and much more

• orienteering - compasses and laminated park orienteering maps

  
  

• we also have a pull cart and stationery box free to use with any other education box loan.
