FUN ALL YEAR ROUND -

Flint Barn Café Spring/Summer opening hours are 9-5

There are always new things going on at Whitlingham. Here's our latest news:

With the grey skies (hopefully) behind us, spring has arrived. At the Great Broad, numerous herons and cormorants are nesting, and fresh leaves are returning to the trees, bringing a welcome wash of green back to the park.

Please continue to take landscape photos of beautiful Whitlingham views and wildlife to enter our photography competition. Thank you to those who have entered wonderful images already.

We are busy creating something exciting!

E-NEWS EXCLUSIVE

The Whitlingham team, alongside our regular volunteers, have been hard at work creating a brand new welcome hub for the park. Opening soon, it will offer a friendly first stop with advice, maps, family trails, and a selection of nature-inspired gifts. Takeaway options from the Flint Barn Café will also be available from the visitor welcome hub. Exciting news for visitors on the go!

WE NEED YOU! If you’re friendly, enthusiastic, and able to spare some time, we’d love you to join our team of 'Whitlingham Welcome' volunteers. Get in touch to find out how to be involved.

🌳 Volunteers and other park projects

Our regular volunteers and visiting corporate groups have been working hard, as always, getting the park looking tidy for the spring and summer footfall. You'll see they have been busy planting, grass-seeding, mowing, weeding, litter-picking and much more. Great thanks for your efforts!

E-NEWS EXCLUSIVE

Meet the newest members of the Whitlingham Country Park team! Our Highland cattle are a fantastic addition, helping to manage the meadows through natural grazing in an environmentally positive way. These five girls are currently helping us on Trowse meadow.

While they’re wonderful to watch, please remember to give them their personal space and be sure to keep a safe distance at all times.

Preserving the Past, Protecting the Future

Our grade II listed Trowse Newton Hall ruins have finally been repaired. The heritage building experts from Phoenix Build have been hard at work repairing sections of flint and lime work recently.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page and blogs to see more about these repairs, and catch all the latest news and announcements about them re-opening in due course..

🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️ World record cycling!

We are honoured that a father and son team are coming to Whitlingham Country Park on the home stretch of their epic cycling challenge on Saturday 2nd May. George and Josh Kohler from Halvergate, near Great Yarmouth, will have cycled around the whole world. How incredible!

When they arrive back home, it will be day 400 of their Guinness World Records title attempt, in which they are seeking to set 3 new records:

  1. Fastest bicycle circumnavigation by a father and son

  2. Furthest journey by bicycle by a father and son

  3. Most countries visited in a continuous bicycle journey by a father and son

They have pedalled over 29,000km, passed through 31 countries and raised over £34,000 for UNICEF UK and Bicycle Links in Norwich. Now it's just fingers crossed for a successful finish.

How can you join in?

Do you fancy cycling the final 25km stretch with George, Josh and other enthusiastic locals on two wheels? If so, gather at the Flint Barn Café by 11:30am ready to set off at midday, heading to Halvergate for celebrations in the afternoon. Keep up with their progress on Instagram or Facebook for more information on their route, as well as how to donate to their charity causes.

What's new at Flint Barn Café? ☕

A black faux leather sofa which wraps around the walls creating a booth in an L shape. There are small square tables set at an angle to the seating. On the tables are pots of brown sugar and z fold information cards. There are low black metal stools at the tables too. There is a flint wall behind the sofa.

The café is now open until 5pm daily and it features a brand NEW seating area downstairs. The recent mezzanine transformation is so popular that we decided to create a sofa booth downstairs too. Enjoy your chosen treats and beverages in comfort and style with us at the Flint Barn.

What's new to eat and drink?

Warmer weather is finally here, so let us quench your thirst with a delicious iced tea or coffee. Refreshing flavours of iced tea include:

  • peach

  • raspberry

  • peach & raspberry

  • mango & passionfruit (pictured)

Which will you try first?

We also have NEW branded Flint Barn cups for your takeaway hot beverages (pictured) and you can share your café reviews with us super easily with our QR review plaques which you can find at the counter and around the barn (pictured). Thank you.

Snacks and baked treats are available every day, between 9am and 5pm

Sausage rolls and pasties, vegan sausage rolls, breakfast pastries, as well as homemade cheese scones, fruit scones, and cakes galore. The challenge is what to pick first!

Lunch is available daily from midday.

Toasty paninis, filled ciabatta rolls and other delicious savoury temptations await at the café counter. The latest homemade soup recipe is tomato, roasted red pepper and basil, served with a granary roll and butter. Yum!

Flint Barn Events are a great NEW addition for 2026. Keep an eye on our What's On page for Barn events throughout the year including craft workshops for you to get involved in. The next event is our Quiz Night on Friday 12th June. We look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming you to Whitlingham again soon.
