Cycling in the Park

Picture
Whitlingham Country Park is an excellent stop along Route 1 and a great place to learn to cycle free from traffic. We want to expand the cycling opportunities in the Park so here are a few things to consider so we all have a safe and enjoyable experience.

  • The path around the Great Broad is accessible to all and although we ask everyone to be considerate of each other, pedestrians will always have priority over cyclists.

  • Our paths are not suitable for high speed so please be mindful of this, give way, use your bell, and be polite.

  • Route 1 diverts off Whitlingham Lane through the busiest part of the Park where visitors come to feed the ducks and relax, if you are in a hurry please stick to the main road.

  • Mountain biking or cycling of any kind through Whitlingham & Trowse Woods is not permitted. The paths are not sufficiently wide enough or suitable for dual use, your cooperation will help prevent further accidents and conflict.
