📚 Birders' Library Update

Have you seen our re-stocked birders' library lately? It has a fresh stock of reading materials inside, including some nature identification books and charts alongside the traditional bird reference books. The weather is beautiful this week, so it's the perfect time to come and have a relaxing read.

Grab your binoculars - It's all ready for your birding needs!

A wooden cupboard on the wall of the bird hide. It has transparent perspex doors with two round brass-effect knobs to open them, Inside there are nine books and a nature identification chart lined up on the shelf.

A library for everyone

Sometimes a bit of internet research can be helpful, but when you just want the experience of a good old-fashioned book in your hands with carefully drawn illustrations, this is the place for you.

Having a book in your hands forces you to slow down and take it all in, and you get loads more satisfaction from your discovery than you get from an instant answer on an electronic device.

Find this little library in our bird hide on the north side of the Great Broad. Sometimes there are swans nesting just outside of the windows, such as in this photo from a couple of years ago. Amazing! A wonderful viewing opportunity without disturbing them.

What a wonderful community we have

Thanks again for the donated books we received from our kind and generous visitors recently. We're so grateful for your continued support. If you have any unwanted nature books, please drop them off at the Flint Barn Café and we will put them to good use for visitors. You will also spot a few nature books in a mini library on the mezzanine shelf in the Flint Barn.

Please enjoy the library contents, making sure you return books after use for others to enjoy too. Thank you!

Original birders' library blog can be found in this link > This little library was originally installed by our wonderful regular volunteers. Sadly the fabulous mallard head handles were taken, as were most of the library contents. Let's hope these re-stocked ones will stay!
