Whitlingham Country Park is a beautiful park on the outskirts of the city of Norwich which is free at point of entry for anyone to access and enjoy any day of the year. Explore the park with us through numbers.
Creation of the park - it's surprisingly young!
1989 - Whitlingham Charitable Trust was formed to manage the land where the park now stands
1992 - Trowse Wood and Trowse Meadow were leased to the Trust as part of The Country Park
1994 - Whitlingham Wood was transferred to the Trust
1996 - Whitlingham Little Broad was completed and became part of the park
2004 - Whitlingham Great Broad was completed and opened to the public for recreation

2005 - 24 hour public moorings were created on the River Yare
Management of the natural space
5 - staff run the park - yes, there are just five of us and only one full timer!
20 - amazing regular volunteers who give their time to support maintenance, guided walks and events
280 - acres of paths, woods, meadows, car parks and buildings to manage
Thousands of hours of volunteering time each year, including contributions from corporate volunteering groups from local and national companies
Flint Barn Cafe
2006 - The 18th century Flint Barn was converted into a cafe and meeting place and opened to the public

20+ - seats for customers in the newly refurbished mezzanine area - increased from just 12 before! Many more seats downstairs and on the patio too
362 - cafe opening days each year! Just two days closure for Christmas + one day for a deep clean
