It's World Braille Day - 4th January

Everyone is welcome at Whitlingham!

Have you seen our fantastic Braille map beside the Flint Barn Cafe? Have you felt it?

It shows everyone what they can find in the park, and where, as well as featuring Braille to support our visitors

who need it.

Have you ever thought about how you might enjoy nature if you couldn't see it?

Try closing your eyes when you're in a safe space to do so within nature. Allow your other senses to be heightened. Can you feel the breeze against your skin? Can you hear birdsong or leaves rustling? What does the bark feel like?

Take the time to explore our Braille map with your finger tips, and take a few moments to take in your surroundings at the park on your next visit. So often we are all too busy in life, and a place of tranquility such as Whitlingham Country Park can allow us a moment of calm in our busy lives.

If you have not tried a walk in our meadows and woods, then cross over Whitlingham Lane and find a new route. Immerse yourself in the trees and spot something new.

Any suggestions?

If you have any ideas for how we can ensure that everyone feels welcome and supported to explore the park, please let us know.

We look forward to welcoming you soon!
